Our team has sailed. Several of our recruiters spent years working aboard cruise ships before transitioning into talent placement. That experience shapes how we match people to roles, how we prepare candidates, and how we advise cruise lines on realistic crew requirements.
Learn About Our TeamOur recruitment fee is paid by the cruise line — not you. Where third-party costs apply (STCW training, ENG1 medical, government visas), you receive a full written breakdown before any payment. Every authorised agent is verified and code-listed — always check before paying.
Track every stage of your application in real time. No black-box waiting — you always know exactly where you stand.
All placements comply with Maritime Labour Convention 2006 standards. We only work with certified, ethical operators.
Once you're placed, our coordinator team walks you through documentation, travel, and what to expect on embarkation day.
We believe every candidate deserves to know what fees exist and why — before committing to anything. Every applicable fee is communicated in writing via an official OceanBridge invoice. You will never be asked to pay something we have not first confirmed to you in writing.
Required by international maritime law (SOLAS) before anyone works at sea. Covers firefighting, survival craft, personal safety, and first aid. Paid directly to an IMO-approved training institute — OceanBridge receives no portion of this cost. We will connect you with a certified centre in your region and confirm the exact fee by invoice before you proceed.
A mandatory physical examination confirming you are medically fit for sea service. Must be issued by an approved maritime medical examiner — a standard GP certificate is not accepted. OceanBridge maintains a directory of approved examiners in most regions and will confirm the exact cost before your appointment.
Depending on your nationality and the cruise line's flag state, you may need a Seafarer's Identity Document, flag state endorsement, or a C1/D crew visa. These are set by government authorities. We will identify exactly which documents you need and issue a written breakdown of all applicable costs before any payment.
Our authorised regional agents can assist with document collection, apostille, notarisation, local authority coordination, and pre-departure logistics. This is entirely optional — many candidates manage independently. Where an agent assists, the service fee is agreed in advance, invoiced by OceanBridge, and fully receipted.
OceanBridge is compensated exclusively by the hiring cruise lines. Every fee listed above goes directly to a third-party authority or service — never to OceanBridge. You will always receive a written breakdown before any payment is required, and you can verify every authorised agent through our Agent Verification Portal. Any payment demand outside of official, receipted channels is fraud — report it immediately.

OceanBridge guided me every step of the way ÔÇö from my STCW training to signing my first contract. Within six months I was working aboard a ship I had only ever dreamed about. They were honest about what was required and never asked me to pay anything without a written invoice first.
I had applied to cruise lines on my own for two years with no success. OceanBridge matched me to a role that fit my culinary background perfectly. The team is professional, responsive, and genuinely cares about placing you in the right position. I am now on my third contract.
What impressed me most was the transparency. I knew exactly what each fee covered before I paid a single shilling. OceanBridge sent an official invoice for everything. Three years later I have been promoted twice and I credit their support at the start for making this career possible.
As a single mother I was nervous about working at sea. The OceanBridge team answered every question I had ÔÇö sometimes at midnight ÔÇö and helped me understand the rotation schedule so my family could plan around my contracts. I have never felt more financially secure.
OceanBridge found an opportunity that matched both my language skills and my hospitality background. The pre-departure orientation they arranged was thorough and practical. I felt prepared on day one aboard the ship. I recommend them to every friend looking to work at sea.
I was sceptical of recruitment agencies after bad experiences elsewhere. OceanBridge was completely different ÔÇö no hidden fees, no pressure, and they matched me to a line that valued bilingual staff. I have now referred four colleagues who are all working on cruise ships thanks to them.
I started as a cabin stewardess and OceanBridge helped me negotiate a supervisor role on my second contract. They coached me on the interview, helped me update my CV, and stayed in touch throughout my first contract to make sure I was settling in. That personal touch is rare.
The maritime industry can be hard to break into without the right connections. OceanBridge not only found me a reputable line but also helped me understand the flag state requirements for my certificate endorsement. Straightforward, professional, and highly recommended.
I came to OceanBridge with two years of hotel experience and no idea how to translate that to a cruise ship career. They identified exactly which departments valued my background and prepared me well for the interview process. I am now on my second voyage and loving every day.
